Mental Health - RASNZ operates the national contract for mental health services in New Zealand for assessment and initial treatment of all incoming UN Quota Refugees and Asylum Seekers based at the Mangere Refugee Complex. Provision of services in clinical assessment, psychiatry, psychology, body therapy, individual, group and family counselling.
Health Education - RASNZ provides through 14 Refugee Community Facilitators and 60 interpreters health promotion for all UN Quota Refugees including road safety, accessing the NZ health system, child health, maternal health, smoking cessation, stopping family violence, alcohol and drug prevention and other topics.
Training and Capacity Building – RASNZ provides training for health professionals in cultural competencies for working with refugees throughout New Zealand.
Initiatives in 2007 - RASNZ is working in partnership with Lifeline to establish the first Refugee Line. RASNZ is working in partnership with the Waitemata District Health Board to develop training and capacity building for health professionals in working with CALD (Culturally and Linguistically Diverse) Clients.
