Quota Refugee Transition Nurse
ARPHS Refugee Service aims to assist refugees with medical care information and support. The Refugee Transition Nurse follows-up Auckland based refugees once they have left the Mangere Refugee Resettlement Centre. Resettled refugees in Auckland are visited by the Transition Nurse with an interpreter (if required) to help explain General Practitioner services and specialist appointments and to explain the New Zealand health system. The Transition Nurse liaises with the General Practitioner practice team as required to ensure the continuum of care for the newly resettled refugee families.
