African Health Promotion Programme

The AHPP is a Health Promotion programme under the auspice of NZ Aids Foundation whose clientele base is predominately members of the African community staying in NZ. The programme also aims to equip and provide knowledge to service providers and stakeholders who work with the members of the African community. This is imperative and pivotal because the African people and what they stand for, have been, at times, taken for granted, worldwide. It is therefore important for the Africans to speak for themselves.

AHPP is involved in effective Health Promotion education on HIV/AIDS within the African community through their trained Community Educators. AHPP also plays an Advocacy role for its community. AHPP works closely with the African community in NZ, through continuous community consultation with the African community leaders, i.e. Community Leaders, Community Elders and Community Religious Leaders.
